You might as well get a divorce and disown the kids now. Newsweek’s “we promise not to report it until after the election” story is going to take a while to read, but if you’re like me, you probably won’t be able to help yourself.
I’m a sucker for the “inside baseball” stuff, and there’s a [...]

This most recent McCain ad strikes me as odd. Watch for the end:
“Barack Obama is not ready — yet.” In four or eight years, though, hell yeah, the ad seems to imply. Just don’t vote for him on Tuesday!
What an odd bit of messaging. Even if the strategy is to play [...]

The Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism has published findings from a study that examines the tone of coverage of the presidential campaign between Sept. 8 and Oct. 16.
Perhaps the most significant finding is that the coverage of Sen. McCain has been, by a pretty fair margin, largely negative. Coverage of Sen. Obama, [...]

So, umm…ouch, right?
I mean, when Karl Rove says your campaign’s attacks have gone “one step too far,” isn’t that kinda like Nolan Ryan saying, “Hey, you’re striking out too many batters. Lighten up and let those guys play some baseball.”
I’m pretty sure most people haven’t a clue what Karl Rove actually did to earn this [...]

I can see it happening already, and it was only five minutes ago that NBC News confirmed John McCain had chosen Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Have you heard of Twitter? If you’re a geek who likes to play with new techie things, it’s really cool, and if you’re a news junkie or a curious person, it can provide an endless stream of behind-the-scenes peeks that make you giddy.
Quick overview: Twitter is a place that lets people share absurdly short messages [...]

I like Joe Lieberman, but I have to admit this typo is absolutely classic.

Not one to take a shot lying down (I supply the vague innuendo, you fill in the punchline of your choice), Paris Hilton has gone on record with her response to John McCain’s “celebrity” ad.
Not only that, but she’s also put a stake in the ground in terms of energy policy, advocating a mixed [...]

A while back, Brother Jon started a great conversation about the “third rails” of American politics, those topics that apparently only the ballsiest or the stupidest politicians will take on with any honesty or significance.
On Monday in Denver, Senator McCain (the next president of the United States? — ready…fight!) took on the third rail of [...]
