The Project for Excellence in Journalism reports only two stories (out of about 1300 monitored) on this subject in the week of April 21-27, “both of them in the April 24 PBS NewsHour broadcast.”
Wow.
The silence is deafening. Bloggers overstate their contribution to free speech and democracy, but they definitely fill an important void in these kinds of cases, when the watchdogs refuse to watchdog themselves.
